Cobble Hill (Area C) Regional Director

With every passing year the pleasure and honour I feel in writing this short note of welcome to the Cobble Hill Fair gets greater and greater.  2026 will be the 117th of this wonderful community event which has always attracted visitors from all over our beautiful Island and beyond.

As you may know, the Cenotaph area has been modified with new lighting so the central point is always bathed in low light during darkness throughout the year. Power installation was provided by the Institute at no cost to the community and is just another example of the great work they do! We also installed two new flagstaffs so the Canadian, BC and Legion flags could all be flown at the same time. Remembrance Day in the village centred around the Cenotaph are always attended by well over 1,000 people, old and young, service personnel and organizations.

Work has commenced on construction of the permanent band stage in the Cobble Hill Commons park area so that other community events, such as Music In The Park can be held on a much-improved facility. Once again, the Farmers Institute and many other local businesses and organisations stepped up with donations and materials. A huge thank you to all those who have helped.

Completion will be well before the summer season and I have been in touch with CHEK TV to ask if they could cover our official opening in early July….. Watch this space for updates on this.

It has been my pleasure to serve as the Cobble Hill Regional Director for the past 8 years, and I always look forward to answering any questions you may have about the CVRD. Please feel free to contact me.
