4-H Club Registration
The Cobble Hill Farmers Institute is delighted to help the various 4-H Clubs in our community by providing free meeting space and outdoor grounds annually for their many programs and activities. This registration is open for Juniors (9 to 12) and Seniors (13 to 19).
The Cobble Hill Fair is a community event for kids of all ages. Our Fair showcases the wonderful variety of talent - both growing and entertainment - that exists in the south Cowichan area. As we "celebrate our past and cultivate our future".
We will not be able to host our traditional Fair in 2021 because of BC Health restrictions regarding gatherings surrounding COVID-19. However, we are again going to host our 'Virtual Fair' and we are planning to hold a day long family oriented outdoor concert either at the Cobble Hill Common or on our horse field on August 28, 2021. We hope you will take the opportunity to enter your goods, produce, and handicrafts into the 112th Cobble Hill Fair and, if possible, join us on August 28th for a day of music and 'community celebration'.
A virtual event involves you taking pictures of your entry and then emailing each photo along with entry information. You will be able to fill out your entry on our website.
Fair entries can be sent from Saturday, August 1st until Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 after which the entries will the judged then all pictures will be posted on this website.
This will give contestants, residents and everyone viewing the website an opportunity to see all of the pictures that comprise our ‘Virtual Fair’!

Cobble Hill (Area C) Regional Director
Welcome to the 112th Virtual Cobble Hill Fair!
With Covid19 this is a difficult year for all, but I am immensely honoured to be involved with this enduring and all-encompassing event that brings both our local and neighbouring communities together year after year. A big thank you to all of the other community volunteers, whether you work within or outside of the various CVRD Committees and Commissions, who work tirelessly to make our area such a great place to be. Their contribution can never be underestimated.
It’s frightening how quickly time goes by and how much our world has changed during this tumultuous period and even though the Farmers Institute needed to cancel its traditional Fair to comply with the directive of Dr. Bonnie Henry, our provincial health officer, I encourage you all to enter, enjoy and participate in this virtual version of the longstanding Cobble Hill Fair. Perhaps there is now a sliver of light at the end of the tunnel and let us hope that things will continue to improve, not just here on our beautiful island, but throughout the world.
Am I still enjoying this, the life of a local politician? Absolutely - and I will continue to do so because my job has been made so much easier with the support that I have enjoyed from the community and my sincere thanks to all for this. If you have questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to email me at email@example.com
