Colouring Contest!

Get out the crayons and get the kids colouring! We are thrilled to be presenting an online colouring contest to tell the story of Buy BC and the importance of buying local products grown and produced right here in beautiful British Columbia!

The Cobble Hill Fair is a community event for kids of all ages. Our Fair showcases the wonderful variety of talent - both growing and entertainment - that exists in the south Cowichan area. As we "celebrate our past and cultivate our future".

We are unsure if we will be able to host our traditional Fair in 2021 because of any possible gathering restrictions surrounding COVID-19. If we are unable to host our traditional Cobble Hill Fair, we will again host a 'Virtual Fair.' Either way, we hope you will take the opportunity to enter your goods, produce, and handicrafts into the 112th Cobble Hill Fair.

A virtual event involves you taking pictures of your entry and then emailing each photo along with entry information. You will be able to fill out your entry on our website.

Fair entries can be sent from Saturday, August 1st, 2021, until Tuesday, August 18th, after which the entries will the judged then all pictures will be posted on this website.

This will give contestants, residents and everyone viewing the website an opportunity to see all of the pictures that comprise our ‘Virtual Fair’!

Our Objectives

  1. To provide an opportunity for the people of the South Cowichan Region to celebrate their rural heritage and character;

  3. To showcase the agricultural bounty of the South Cowichan region;
  4. To showcase South Cowichan's culture, industries and environment;
  5. To create a greater awareness of the South Cowichan Region;
  6. To come together once a year to have a great time with friends and neighbours.

Cobble Hill (Area C) Regional Director

Welcome to the 111th Virtual Cobble Hill Fair!

With Covid19 this is a difficult year for all, but I am immensely honoured to be involved with this enduring and all-encompassing event that brings both our local and neighbouring communities together year after year. Even though the Farmers Institute needed to cancel its traditional Fair to comply with the directive of Dr. Bonnie Henry, our provincial health officer, I hope you enter, enjoy and participate in this virtual version of the longstanding Cobble Hill Fair.

A big thank you to all of the other community volunteers, whether you work within or outside of the various CVRD Committees and Commissions, who work so tirelessly to make all our areas such a great place to be. Their contribution can never be underestimated.

It’s frightening how quickly time goes by and how much our world has changed during this tumultuous period.

Am I still enjoying this, the life of a local politician? Absolutely - and I will continue to do so. If you have questions for me please email to
