As we celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary we should reflect on all that our young country has accomplished in a century and a half. Our country and our communities were founded on growing and agriculture. Over the past 150 years, Canada has matured as a nation. We are recognized on the world scene as Peacekeepers extraordinaire and at home, we are seen a nation of can do, caring people who take pride in our country, our flag and our accomplishments. During this year of celebrating Canada’s 150th, we hope you will join us in recognizing all that is great about Canada!

On behalf of your hard working directors, our generous sponsors, our enthusiastic exhibitors, nd our dedicated volunteers, welcome to the highlight of our year - the 108th Cobble Hill Fair!

We encourage you to come to the Fair with your family and friends. Get an early start with Rotary pancake breakfast then watch the Parade, take in the Opening Ceremonies and the decorated bicycle competition. Throughout the day we have stage entertainment, rides and activities for the children, antique farm equipment displays and demonstrations, livestock displays and judging, 4-H exhibits, commercial vendors, a horse show, domestic science and other competitions and many food options.

As a complement to the hay bale throwing contest and the Welly Wanging competitions, this year we are adding a Treasure Hunt. The Cobble Hill Fair is good family fun and rural charm at its best. Most important of all, a day at the Fair is a great opportunity to meet your friends and neighbours, who help share conversations about times past and explore shared thoughts/dreams of new directions for our very much loved Cobble Hill community.

Behind the scenes and working together throughout the year, we are very grateful to who helps us as we support numerous Cobble Hill community, groups, events and activities - theWomen’s Institute, 4-H Clubs, South Cowichan Seniors Luncheons, Seedy Saturday, Valentine Tea,Easter Egg Hunt, Haunted Barns, Remembrance Day Services, the Spring and Christmas VarietyShows and so much more.

It is thanks to the collective effort of several hundred current and years’ past supporters that we are able to proudly recognize and celebrate 108 years of farming and shared community values in Cobble Hill.

Our Farmers Institute has served Cobble Hill and the South Cowichan community for more than a century. All of the work we do is for the community. We have no employees... we are a volunteer organization and we welcome your help and support.
